The Best Carpet Cleaning Methods are:
- Hot Water Extraction (Steam Cleaning)
- Dry Foam
- Dry Compound
Let’s start with the cleaning process:
- Steam Cleaning (Hot Water Extraction)
Steam cleaning is the highly recommended cleaning method buy the carpet experts and manufactures. This is the only cleaning method that has been classified as the “deep cleaning”. Rest other cleaning methods are considered as the light surface cleaning because they are incompetent to remove deep soil in the pile. Also, all other methods leave large amount of cleaning agents after cleaning.
This methods is called “steam” cleaning because the fine spray of water used to force dirt out of the carpet which is sucked by the vacuum slot immediately in front of the spray. Very rarely real steam used, however. This steps includes spraying solution of water and cleaning detergent into the carpet pile and recovering the a water and soil with a hi-tech powerful vacuum into a holding tank.
Wet shampoo cleaning is done with advance machines, followed by through wet vacuuming. This method has a very good agitation and is best suited for low pile commercial carpet. This technique, unless it is used with some other type of carpet cleaning, has no extraction in the cleaning process but rather relies on vacuuming after the shampoo dries. Because of the large amount of cleaning products residue it leaves, this method is not recommended for most cut pile residential carpet. It also has longer drying times with it.
- Dry Foam
This method is alike to shampooing. The carpet cleaning is done by the dry foam using the dry foam machine. Even though as the name indicates, it is that it involves complete dryness as it has low moisture. That is going to 90% air and 10 % of liquid. So, the dry foam machine has a tank in which you need to pour water and shampoo. Thi does allows for faster drying times. Although, nowadays some of the dry foam machines have a in built vacuum they still rely on the cleaning products drying toa flasky residue that the dirt is sucked away by a vacuum cleaner. This method has the same drawback as shampooing with the additional one of not being able to clean it deeply.
Mix club soda with the cleaning product, then deposit on the surface as a mist, a round buffer or “bonnet” scrub the mixture with rotating motion. This machine resembles a floor buffer, with an absorbent spin pad that grabs soil and it is rinsed repeatedly. The best thing about this method is it dries very quickly because of the small amount of moisture used. Normally does a good job of cleaning the top third of the carpet pile. But does little to remove the heavier grit and sand that damages carpet overtime. Just because of little deep cleaning.
- Dry component
Using this technique, a dry absorbent compound containing detergent and solvent may be spread evenly over the carpet and treated into the piles using machines. The dirt and grime is grabbed to the absorbent dry compound and are removed by vacuuming, leaving carpet clean and dry on the spot. It has a fastest drying times of all carpet cleaning methods and has the advantage of being able to walk over immediately after cleaning. Alike bonnet method, dry compound cleaning does a good job of cleaning the top third of the fiber that is visible and does very little to remove the heavier soils in the base of the carpet.
